Is it true that hugelkulture mounds don’t work well in hot and dry climates?

Is it true that hugelkulture mounds don’t work well in hot and dry climates? New Mexico, zone 8 I just pruned a bunch of trees to make hugel mound beds… but then I read they are not appropriate for hot dry climates? Is this true?? If so should I just bury the prunings shallowly to fertilize around trees and shrubs? Or should I just leave on top as a rough mulch? Not sure what to do now… submitted by /u/joez37 to r/Permaculture [link] [comments] top scoring links : multi
