I may be in the minority but I do regularly use Asym crypto to send confidential files to other folks who are comfortable using GPG. I also use signatures fairly regularly. I have come across MiniSign which seems pretty cool if ECDSA using 25519 is enough for you. It’s a lightweight replacement for GPG sigs.
